Nicholas Wrathall
Nicholas Wrathall is an award-winning filmmaker known for Gore Vidal: The United States Of Amnesia which opened to critical acclaim at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2013
Nic began making Super 8 films while attending Sydney University and Nth Sydney Film & TV. He frequented the Sydney Film Festival from a young age and programmed the University Footbridge Cinema.
At 22 Nic moved to New York and started interning for documentary filmmaker Jayne Loader. Nic thrived in NYC working as an Assistant Director and then Producer for music videos, commercials, and independent films, including producing Madonna’s “Frozen,” which won the 1998 MTV Award for Best Music Video.
His first documentary Abandoned: The Betrayal of America’s Immigrants, featured on PBS Independent Lens and won the 2000 Alfred I. duPont Columbia Award for Broadcast Journalism.

Nicholas strives to use filmmaking as a tool to inspire people to question media representation and reignite the art of critical thinking.

Nic is the recipient of an Alfred I. Dupont Columbia Award Winner for Broadcast Journalism; the United Nations Association Film Festival Grand Jury Award For Best Documentary; an Audience Special Recognition Award at Aspen Filmfest; Audience Award, Best Documentary Feature at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. And runner-up, Audience Award Best Documentary Film at Traverse City Film Festival.
