Julian Benedikt
Julian Benedikt, a documentary filmmaker with a passion for people, light, and music, emerged from an artistic family in Neubeuern am Inn. Inspired by legendary drummer Chico Hamilton’s “Conquistadores,” he created his debut film, “Chico Hamilton – Dancing To A Different Drummer.” Known for exploring cultural nuances, he gained acclaim for “Blue Note – A Story Of Modern Jazz” and produced notable works on figures like Helmut Newton. Benedikt’s diverse projects include films, TV commercials, and collaborations with influential figures across music, sports, art, and business.

In his works, Benedikt creatively expresses characteristic features by exploring the oscillation between cultural similarities and differences. In filming, his images are not meant to present preconceived notions, but to gently sever the viewer from his opinions and ideas

In the beginning of his cinematic journey, Julian Benedikt continued to deal with the subject of music and film and especially JAZZ. For his 3rd film „Blue Note – A Story Of Modern Jazz“ Julian received international acclaim and many awards. Another important milestone in his career was the production of a tribute to world-renowned photographer Helmut Newton: „SUMO“.

Beside long format films for television and cinema, Julian has produced and directed commercials and image films and different campaigns for commercial clients . He has worked with many of the most influential people in music, sports, art and economy, focusing on motor sport and soccer.
