Her next short, ‘The Rhythm’ (2018), shot by Walid Baaklini and produced by Elcy Ghoussoub, won first place at the UAE National Happiness Film Competition in association with SMovies and Vox Cinemas. She went on to make award-winning lockdown short ‘A Niggling Question’ (2020) shot by Jad Saabi , and ‘Karama:267’ (2021) co-directed with Ekta Saran and shot by Tom Weir.
Last year she took on her most ambitious project, writing directing and producing ‘The Trouble Out There’, joining forces once more with DOP Jad Saabi, and production team Walid Baaklini and Elcy Ghoussoub. The project was truly an international one with funding from the UAE, casting in Germany, filming in Georgia, and post production across the UAE, Germany and Portugal. Danielle is currently writing her first feature.
