Visual flow – from concept to final image -2

The workshop “Visual Flow – From Concept to Final Image – 2” is the second part of the series, in which we explore the stage between “imagination” and “pressing the button.” The goal here is to enable you to use your tools and visual imagination in real shooting conditions, and to get a balanced and complete shot the first time around, instead of relying on luck or discovering mistakes after returning home.

We start from a crucial point: choosing the subject and leaving space for light. Because if the subject is not in the right place within the frame, the entire visual flow is lost. You will learn how to let it take the lead visually, how to move around it and change your direction north/south/east/west to get the “best shape,” and link this decision to the direction of lighting and the right time to shoot. Then, choose a composition that serves the subject and invest in the largest number of transitions that give depth and story to the image.

Then we move on to the precise controls that distinguish between an ordinary image and one that guides the viewer’s eye: the angles and boundaries of the frame. You know that the four corners are not secondary… they are a clever design tool that draws the viewer’s eye inward and builds real leading lines. You will learn how to deal with empty skies as negative space that can weaken the image, and how to balance the visual weight so that no side element distracts more than the subject or light source.

We conclude with the approach of a professional photographer in the field: reading the variables of the scene before pressing the button. Is the contrast high and does it require bracketing? Is there movement that requires a faster or slower shutter speed? Do you need focus stacking for sharpness from start to finish? And how do you decide on the ISO yourself instead of using auto? After shooting, the “evaluate and re-evaluate” phase begins: evaluate the spaces, cut elements, distractions, direction of lines, and balance of masses… so that the shot is finalized before you leave the location. The workshop is suitable for beginner and intermediate photographers, and is excellent for advanced photographers who want a clear system that they can quickly apply on every shoot.
