Smart Phone Photography

Contemporary smart phones contain clever cameras with huge capabilities. However, to get the best from them, as with all cameras, it’s important to recognise their limits, along with understanding quite what a good photograph is. This workshop will explain how to get the very best photographs from your smart phone, including consideration of some clever Apps for both capture & processing.

Aimed at Photographers of all levels & abilities, this workshop we will explore the capabilities of the smart-phone camera, assessing it’s potentials whilst importantly understanding it’s limitations, both technically & aesthetically.

Recognising that it is the photographer and not the camera which takes a good photograph, we will too delve into the building blocks of any achieved photograph, namely the fundamentals of light, composition & subject material.

In an age of a billion photographs, we’ll explore how to capture imagery which stands out against the competition, arresting the attention, bringing pleasure to both the photographer & their audience.
