Brian Skerry: Capturing Emotion Beneath the Waves
Exhibition Tour: The Sentient Sea

Exhibition Tour: The Sentient Sea

Brian Skerry leads visitors through the underwater world, sharing how years of collaboration with scientists and conservationists shaped this body of work. The tour explores what it takes to photograph beneath the surface: planning, logistics, patience, and the technical challenges that influence every frame.

Skerry will discuss how images can reveal intelligence, emotion, and fragility in marine life, and how he thinks about storytelling when the audience may never see these environments firsthand. The tour highlights the role photography can play in building empathy for the ocean.
