An Odyssey of Change - 10 Years of Oceanic Exploration

An Odyssey of Change – 10 Years of Oceanic Exploration

Imagine diving in Greenland to shoot the hidden side of the ice and document the story of world-renowned explorers after working with a suit and tie for 15 years. Franck Gazzola did just that: leaving the Corporate life & jumping into the unknown to become an Adventure & Documentary Photographer. With no prior experience, Franck will share how he got to work with a team of oceanic explorers called ‘Under The Pole’, pioneers in underwater exploration. Since 2015, they have explored the ‘twilight zone’ for science under all latitudes, going deeper than most & facing unexpected ordeals. They spent a winter caught in the sea ice & they even lived underwater in a small Capsule. Today, Franck is one of the few photographers able to shoot below -100M, where every shot is new news.

But Franck will tell you he had no special gift or talent. He will share his personal story of change and take you on a unique photographic journey, combining the many lessons learnt and his unique approach to Photography. Franck became a do-it-all Photographer, shooting drones, topside or underwater, learning his skills on the job. Today, he works with clients like ROLEX and WWF and has hundreds of publications.

Franck’s keynote and Q&A will appeal to all kinds of Photographers, whether it’s to find courage to make that next move, to learn useful tips & behind-the-scenes stories or to know more about the oceanic exploration. Be prepared to leave the room empowered and inspired!
