2026 Official Opening Ceremony

The Official Opening Ceremony marks the formal commencement of Xposure 2026 and is reserved exclusively for passholders and invited guests. It takes place in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi and the Mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, with Athens recognised as Guest of Honour.

The ceremony formally opens a programme dedicated to visual storytelling as a tool for understanding the world, addressing migration, conflict, culture, environmental change, and the responsibility of image makers working between journalism, art, and documentary practice. It establishes the intellectual framework for the days ahead, setting out Xposure’s commitment to education, critical dialogue, and the role of photography and film in shaping informed global conversations
