Creative Separation in a Competitive Marketplace
This workshop will show you by using personal projects and case studies how to creatively separate yourself from your competition. Using 30+ years of representing photographers while working with every major ad agency and editorial platform we will discuss creative plans to secure high valued creative assignments. This workshop is designed to enlighten and motivate photographers to realise, create and most importantly secure opportunities while showcasing their imagery.
This two hour workshop is designed for young as well as seasoned photographers and is limited to 15 participants. We will illustrate how using personal projects can create opportunities beyond their initial purpose. We will discuss the process by which photographers are ultimately selected to shoot for editorial platforms, advertising agencies and clients.
We will showcase, using personal projects by photographers and how they were able to leverage those projects into securing high valued projects. We will discuss the estimating and negotiating process as an important way to engage with clients. Significantly, photographers will understand the inherent value to creating wonderful content that satisfied themselves creatively and the opportunity it creates with their commercial and editorial clients.
As part of our workshop we’ll discuss the nuance of speaking and listening to clients and how to write an inspirational creative brief. We’ll dive into the photographer – representative relationship and when is the right time to secure representation. Also as part of our workshop we’ll delve into “creative separation” – and answer the question; “How do I separate myself from the competition?”
This workshop is designed for engagement and for all to be involved. Come with questions, you’ll leave with a clear understanding of the photographic landscape and the tools to navigate it all.
